Despite all the craziness that seems to be going on, I can’t help but smile at the beautiful spring weather we are having in St. Pete.
As much as I talk about hating to live in the place I grew up, it really is paradise. I know I will love living in St. Pete when I am settled down and married with kids, but for now it is too easy. This environment is not challenging. However it is nice enough for a bike ride along the water to the gym on a Sunday afternoon.
Workout
After an easy 15 minute bike ride to the gym, I focused on lower-body. I’ve recently noticed some knee pain and have added more lateral moves to my routine. I also realized that during deadlifts my knees fall inward, which is due to weak hip abductors and adductors. After working those muscles during my last two lifting sessions I am incredibly sore, a sign that I don’t work them nearly enough. Eventually I will post a lower-body workout to address this problem, so get ready!
On the bike ride home I snapped some more photos. By the way it is about 80 degrees here and afternoon thunderstorms are already becoming frequent. What happened to winter?
At one spot I found my name engraved in the sidewalk! Crazy.
Okay my name is not Karsten but it’s close. I go by many names actually since most people cannot spell or pronounce my name correctly. No big deal.
Time to kick off the work week. Oh boy, not looking forward to this…
So I just spent some time catching up on all of your China posts – looks like it was such an amazing trip. I can’t wait to hear all about it in person! I get back at the end of the month, the 25th or so.. we will def need a gym date. I feel like I’m doing a lot of walking (duh it’s nyc) and getting in some good runs in central park, but my muscles are feeling weak! Do you have any good at home/bodyweight workouts??
Thanks for reading! Hope you are having a great time in NYC and definitely look forward to catching up when you return! As for bodyweight workouts, I have two circuit workout videos that I made for friends on my youtube channel. Go here: http://www.youtube.com/user/kchmiele?feature=watch and try Circuit 1: Part 1 and 2 or Circuit 2: Part 1 and 2. It’s pretty hokey but just follow along and ignore the rambling. Let me know if you try it! The take about 20 minutes each.

Awesome! I’m going to try one of the circuits tonight 🙂
