Day 365: Buon Anno!

I DID IT!! Here my friends is the very last photo of the day.

For an entire year I have taken at least one photo every day. 365 days later, I have more than 365 blog posts detailing my life and the amazing experiences that I have embarked upon. This project has documented the craziest year of my life which continues to get crazier. This project has pushed me to try new things for the sake of photography and has helped this blog blossom into a wonderful and reflective space.

Would my life be different if I did not embark on this 365 project? Who knows. All I know is that tapping back into my passion for photography and writing has enhanced my life. I am happy! I plan to continue blogging about my journey as an expat because I don’t want to miss a second of this experience.

And now I am bursting for joy because the 365 Project is DONE! Here we go…

Monday, December 31st

We step outside in the bitter cold. The music is pumping with ferocity in the frozen air while the crowd below surges in rhythm to the beat. Wearing only a dress and parka, my legs are freezing so we dance frantically to the techno pop blasting from the speakers. Suddenly I recognize the Italian being shouted by the crowd as they yell…

Dieci

Nove

Otto

Sette

Sei

Cinque

Quattro

Tre

Due

Uno…

Buon Anno!!

The sky erupts in bursts of lights as the crowd cheers. We raise our glasses of bubbly and get in that marvelous New Years Eve kiss. Another year begins, this time in the mountains of Italy. Where will we be next year? What will this new year bring?

There is no time to dwell because the party has just begun!

Buon Anno from Selva di Val Gardena!

  1. Congrats! I’ve known so many people who’ve embarked on this 365 photo a day challenge. I want to try it myself, but I don’t know if I have it in me to do so! Lovely photography 🙂

    1. Thank you!!

You should do it!! It is such a rewarding challenge that, if anything, will improve your blog and how you look at your world. It doesn’t have to be complicated and you can post just the picture instead of getting all wordy like me :-).

Fyi, probably 300 out of 365 photos were taken with my phone. Nothing fancy!

      Good luck 😉

      1. I was wondering about that. I wouldn’t be able to carry my SLR around with me everywhere everyday, so maybe I’ll do the same and start with a few snaps on my phone haha. Thanks for the inspiration!
