So Monday January 26th, I finished my one class at 11:30am and decided to take a walking tour of the city, heading South from the Little Mermaid to the Black Diamond.
I encountered some interesting sights including a windmill, military exercise, picturesque Nyhavn.
Wednesday I went to the DR TV station with my Lost in Translation class to see how subtitles are made. In Denmark, everything including the news has Danish subtitles, even if Danish is being spoken. Let me say, translating and creating subtitles for everything said on the news is a difficult job and highly dependent on speed, timing, and getting to the point. At the DR building was a model of the concert hall next door, featuring little faceless dolls as the audience. They were so cute and semi creepy, I couldn’t resist…
