Sundays are the best.
So relaxing. The final calm before the weekday storm. In Florida, Sunday is a day to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf. For me, it is a day to lift heavy, eat good food, watch movies, and lounge by the pool.
Yesterday we did just that.
Don’t worry, he was wearing a bathing suit. Keeping things PG here.
Workout
Before the deliciously warm poolside lounging, I went upstairs for a workout. I felt tired from walking all day yesterday. Plus I have a sinus infection and am constantly hacking up a lung. But I thought I would try and see what I could do.
I started by walking on the treadmill. After 10 minutes I felt good so I hopped on the erg machine. I felt better so I did intervals, going hard for 30 seconds and easy for 90 seconds. After 10 minutes of that I did some active stretching and felt worse. I was tight and sore and felling pretty blah. So I headed to the weight room for some supersets.
As soon as I started lifting, I felt awesome! I even rested less than usual during supersets. Usually I get pretty lazy, but this time I was determined to push myself and jump directly from each exercise to the next. My heart rate soared. My breathing became labored. Sweat started pouring from my body. I was on fire.
After 45 minutes, I stretched then proceeded to rest for the remainder of the day. We watched the Godfather Part 2, ate pizza, and did absolutely nothing else.
Sundays are the best.
