Day 157: Happy Birthday Dad

Another day, another rain storm!

It has been raining all week and the grey weather has really affected my mood. As nice as it is to cozy up to a book during a thunderstorm, plowing through work and staying inside all day is less pleasant. I am praying for sunshine this weekend!

Yesterday was just as rainy but a little more fun. It was also for a day for pearls.

After work, the office went out to Bonefish to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Many rounds of bang bang shrimp and watermelon margaritas (yum!) later, everybody was having a grand ole time.

I am the youngest person in our 8 person office by far and everybody has worked together for 10 to 25 years. They are like one big dysfunctional family and I am happy to be a part of it. I have known these people since I was a kid when I would visit my dad at work or attend client events. I also worked at the office for a couple summers in high school. Working in the office as a grown-up and becoming friends with my coworkers has been a wonderful experience. They are all great people.

Anyways.

We ate, drank, and shared stories till about 9pm. I even heard some hilarious stories of my dad and mom in their younger days. My dad was 21 when he first met my mom who was 28 at the time. Quite the age difference right? My poor dad has been surrounded by women since then. With 3 daughters and 4 women at the office, he has always been outnumbered. I respect him so much! Women are crazy… 😉

Living at home and working for my dad for the last year and half has definitely been a challenge. However, it has brought me so much closer to my dad. I have learned so much from him in such a short amount of time. Always working hard, my dad loves his family and loves helping others. He is such a smart, focused, and fun-loving guy and I am happy to call him my friend as well as my dad.

Happy Birthday Dad!! I love you!
