Day 208: Close the Shutters

 

 

I don’t know what it is about weekends.

Sometimes all I want to do is write and take pictures and post blog content. Other weekends I have no desire to do anything except sleep, read, and connect with people.

This weekend was one of those weekends. There was no desire to write. No desire to get into my head. My only desire was catch up on sleep, sweat, study, and turn off my brain.

Close the shutters.

Less “thinking” and more “doing”. It was much needed.

So let’s rewind to Friday.

I bought new sneakers!!! They are Nike Free cross trainers and they are the coolest thing since sliced bread. They are white and light and pretty and I will post a picture as soon as I remember to do so.

I also bought some compression socks which I am wearing right now. These will be great for that long plane ride to Shanghai. So excited!!!

Daily Workout

Of course I needed to put my new shoes to good use so I laced up my new kicks for some full-body lifting as directed in Best Body Bootcamp. Unfortunately I had a horrendous headache that only intensified at the gym. With every upper-body lift, pain would shoot up my neck and squeeze my head tight. It was awful.

Post-lift stretching helped a bit as did some Ibuprofen. By midnight the headache was gone.

Then I conked out for 10 hours which really did the trick.

Sleep cures all.
