Brrrrr… it’s so cold here! Thank you Shanghai, you have brought fall!! There’s nothing better than sipping a cup of green tea before braving the elements on my way to Crossfit. This is my first class back after a taking a week off due to my foot injury which is getting much worse :-(. Instead of dwelling on the negatives, let’s go back to when I was happy, injury-free, and new to Crossfit!
Sunday, October 21st
The day after my first Crossfit class I was SO SORE. So sore that I could barely get out of bed. With every move I made I discovered yet another muscle that was affected. It was miserable but honestly, such a good feeling. It had been so long since I was truly sore from a great workout that I was happy to feel my hard work. Or maybe I am just weird? Haha.
What helped me feel better was when Peter surprised me with fresh lilies immediately after class. He is so sweet.
Until I reminded him that I believe lilies are funeral flowers. Whoops. But it was still very sweet! Plus the lilies were very fragrant and immediately brightened our apartment. We definitely need to invest in some permanent house plants to help filter our air. Pollution is certainly an issue in Shanghai.
Since I was basically immobile and thus out of commission, we spent our Sunday relaxing, watching movies, and drinking hot beverages.
It was perfect.
And although I knew I would be even more sore the next day, I was ready to go back to Crossfit and kick some more of my own butt.
I had fallen hard for Crossfit. Hook, line, and sinker.
But would Crossfit love me back?
