Happy Birthday Carina!

Carina and I lived were randomly assigned to the same freshman dorm (3rd Floor West baby!). It was  our first year of college and were the only Floridians on our floor. We spent the first few months shivering the frigid Maine weather and we eventually bonded around the time of our first snow day.  At the end of the year we decided to become roomies.

For three years we lived together, cried together and laughed together. We also dressed up a lot. From holiday concerts to 80’s dance parties, we did it all (including lots of schoolwork).

Since college, we no longer live just down the hall from each other. Sometimes we live across the state and other times we live across the world. But for some reason our friendship is stronger than ever. We have been through many struggles, triumphs, fights and celebrations. Although are lives are very different, we have become closer friends. “The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart” -Elizabeth Foley. So true!

Today, we still dress up.

Thank you Carina for being a wonderful person and my best friend. It has been a crazy seven years and I can’t wait to see what our friendship has in store for us.

Happy Birthday!!! I love you!

  1. Well Kirsten, Once again I enjoyed your blog. And, most especially the quote by Elizabeth Foley. So sweet of you to have your conversation with Madeline last night. It is going to be a fun year. Love you, Ginny
