I have a confession to make.
Last week I didn’t exercise.
For 3 days!
OK it was awesome. I felt great. It felt so good to spend time with my friend and do typical summer things. It also felt good to sleep. A lot. My knees have also been bothering me for a while and those three days off have really made a difference.
My body is thanking me.
By Sunday, it was time to start moving again.
I recruited my sister for another round of Fitnessista’s Summer Shape-Up Workout #4. We did just 2 rounds. OH BOY did we feel the burn.
Monday- Best Workout Ever
It’s been storming like crazy this week. And not just little afternoon thunderstorms like usual, but big blow out storms that last all evening. Monday was one of those days (and Tuesday and Wednesday!)
I was exhausted all day from sleeping poorly (this is what happens when you sleep in till noon on vacation). When I got home from work the last thing I wanted to do was trudge my tired booty to the gym.
So I improvised.
I cleared the living room. Plugged in my Ipod.
And started dancing.
First I danced to a 12 minute IIN movement class led by a personal trainer. Then I busted out silly moves on my own for 5 different songs. 30 minutes later I was energized, sweaty, and so freaking happy.
It was the best workout ever!! No plan, no agenda, no specific moves, just some free style dancing in my own little dance party. It was also insanely fun.
So next time you’re not feeling a workout, just blast the tunes and start dancing! You’ll sweat a little, get the blood flowing, and have a stupid smile on your face.
Try it. I dare you :-).

I totally agree! Dancing is definitely the best workout!! I actually put it on my workout schedule the other week. I do it in my basement with no windows so I can be as silly as I want to be 🙂
