So I know ya’ll were waiting for my big announcement yesterday! Well I won’t know till Monday. GAHHH. The item I am waiting for was shipped Friday. And unfortunately the service I am using did not tell me the contents of the package.
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I NEED TO KNOW.
Humph. (beware, this post is rambly)(is rambly a word?)(ok after looking up the definition and saying it over and over again I am convinced that rambles is not a word at all).
So for most of Friday I was happy and kind of nervous expecting to hear my fate at a moment’s notice. The only thing giving away my nervousness was a stubborn eye twitch that stuck around all day. Honestly I felt like a crazy person. But that’s a pretty normal feeling for me.
I woke up pretty early to get blood work done. If you didn’t know, I hate needles. They scare the crap out of me. When I was a kid, I would cry when I got a shot. When I was a teenager, I would cry when I got a shot. Today I don’t cry but close my eyes and will absolutely not watch or even think about a needle piercing my body and removing my insides. HOLY CRAP. SO WRONG. There was this scene is one of the Saw movies where this girl falls into a pit of used needles and it has literally haunted my dreams.
Anyway.
This time was alright only because I am interested in knowing my blood type. At IIN we will be talking about the blood type diet and I should probably know… It is also good to know my health stats. I probably should have told the nurse that I started my fast the night before by eating a pint of ice cream. Whoops 😉
After the doctor I had some time to kill before a morning meeting downtown. So I did what any normal person would do and brought my own breakfast to Starbucks.
My breakfast of choice these days: Overnight oats with 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1 cup almond milk. Add in cinnamon, coconut flakes, blueberries, and almonds. SO FREAKIN’ GOOD. Unpictured: Hard boiled egg for protein.
I ordered a tall dark roast coffee with whole milk and devoured my breakfast while catching up on Twitter, eye twitching and all.
My morning meeting was OK except the big project we were going to work on for the City of St. Pete fell through. Bummer. It would have been an amazing contribution to the city. Oh well.
To soothe myself, I stopped by Feet First for some compression socks! Lindsay talked about getting some for her plantar fasciitis and I figured it would be great for my own tendonitis. Well an hour later of chatting with the salesperson, trying on compression socks, regular socks, and sneakers, I walked out with nothing! Next Friday they will have my size compression socks and sleeves and Nike Frees to try on. SO EXCITED.
While I was there, the guy analyzed my gait and confirmed that, yes, I have the most inflexible ankles in the history of the world. It is hilarious. He says that my foot has full contact with the ground for only a second then my heels immediately lift off the ground. No wonder my tendons are inflamed! Ugh. Need to work on that calf flexibility. Every day for the rest of my life.
Back home I worked through the afternoon and decided to skip my workout in favor of seeing Magic Mike again with my sister.
This was another successful prioritization of socializing and time with family over a rigid workout schedule. Honestly, who works out on a Friday night??? (me)
I’m learning.
